Art in Parcus Car Parks

Creating the unexpected was the idea of this project which brings art deep within a space often deemed in the urban imaginary as a grey and concrete nothingness. Taking special care in the printing, framing and hanging of the images, Alain Bublex has created an original exhibition over the eight levels of the Austerlitz car park. The photography has a precious and fragile air to it, in complete contrast with the car park and its atmosphere.

The Grenier fantôme (Ghost attic) series on display in Austerlitz car park includes an image captured this year in Japan. The architecture we see is so unexpected that each different perspective creates a new work of art. The artist has altered the image, removing or adding elements to the building, to create eight different views.

What better a reason to rediscover Austerlitz car park?
