Security arrangements during the Strasbourg Christmas market 26 November – 26 December 2021

Measures taken by the Prefecture and the Eurometropole of Strasbourg :

Parking will be prohibited for the duration of the Christmas market in the island ellipse (the Grande Ile or the heart of the city).
The systematic checkpoints at the entrances to the Grande Ile are over for pedestrians and cyclists, not for cars. Frequent random checks will replace the system.
A vehicle filtering system will be maintained, reinforced by a multiplicity of checks inside the ellipse during market opening hours.
The Broglie Opera and Gutenberg car parks, located within the perimeter, will be closed to the public at all times. Subscribers to these car parks will have a badge to access the ellipse (registration on the dedicated platform).
Parcus car parks open 24/7: Coubertin – Bateliers – Austerlitz – Etoile P2 Cinéma – St Nicolas – Centre historique Petite France – Halles P3 Wilson – Halles P2 Sébastopol – Ste Aurélie Gare.

Sanitary arrangements:

As of December 3rd, according to the revised sanitary arrangements for the Strasbourg Christmas market, the food and drink consumption areas, called “food court”, as well as the Kléber and Broglie squares, are subject to the possession of a health pass.
On the other hand, it is compulsory to wear a mask on the whole of the Grande-Île during the whole of the Christmas market, i.e. from 11am to 8pm every day. Wearing a mask is therefore compulsory throughout the Christmas market and it is only possible to remove it in the sectors dedicated to the consumption of food or drink.
